I saw that site too, but it's hardly a creditable source. There are far more sites that say that the engine is a proprietary one than there are staying it's based off of the Quake engine. Why, if it's a modified Quake engine, would everyone call it the Call of Duty 4 engine? Wouldn't they...
The second link is a quote from a conversation with the head of Infinity Ward Studios stating that the game, Call of Duty 4: MW, uses an entirely proprietary engine. I sifted through quite a few search results and failed to find anything besides a few users on random forums claiming that it was...
I just don't understand why anyone still wants to use IE.. Firefox is just so much better. It's not like it's going to be extremely confusing; it's still basically the same UI, just a lot more stuff jammed under the hood.
This is true, but as time goes on developers learn tricks that help them take full advantage of the console's hardware, so games usually look better towards a few years after a console has been out.
They never keep up with PCs, though :nerd:
I don't know if you really are going to get anything out of spending that much on a sound card.. Most motherboards come with pretty decent onboard sound now. I'd try that out for a while and only upgrade the sound card if you aren't happy with the onboard.
Infinity Ward has always been a PC developer FIRST meaning that they put more effort into their PC games than the console games. They know that PC gaming is what got them going and they're not about to forget that (I hope lol).
And as for those screen shots... One of them looks like they just...
You missed my point. Even if TS/Vent/Xfire aren't hard to setup, not everyone is going to do it. With the 360/PS3 the community experience is built right into console so everyone is able to communicate with everyone else regardless of what game they're playing, or whether they've downloaded...
I completely disagree here. The voice systems on consoles have a much better setup (except for the Wii) than PC gaming has currently. There is one standardized system for communicating with all of your friends on any game with the 360 and the PS3. Most PC games come with voice communication...
I highly doubt that this is true. Do you have any proof to back up your claims? If it were to be true, MS, along with the game manufacturers at fault, would probably already be getting sued over this. You simply cannot put false information on a product's packaging.
Buying cheap parts isn't always the best idea.. especially for key components such as the motherboard and the PSU. Odds are you'll end up with a paperweight.
