Hi, CPU temp seems to be around 50C, and im pretty sure its not spyware related, as i generally keep ontop of that stuff, but it cant hurt me to use that guide. any other suggestions? thanks EDIT: also, the CUP USAGE shown at the bottom of task manager never hits 100%...nor does the Commit Charge.

hi, the drive is set to DMA mode 6....and the IDE drive is set to DMA mode 5. I have also just tried reinstalling windows with no luck.

yea partition magic recognises all cylinders and partitions, and i have run tests on the drive and all appears OK. The sata drive is fairly new, and has no bad sectors or anything either.

yea i've checked all the cables and conncection and everything...sata HDD is in the port that says sata0...is that alright?

Hi, the IDE drive has an 8MB cache, and has the same rpm as the sata driver. The sata drive has a 16MB cache. With copying a 1gb file..it would take approx half an hour...with all the freezing every few seconds. thanks for your reply.
