she was doing work on her laptop the whole day
she did not try to access any resources on the server and when she went to log onto the desktop thats what happened
at the moment at home I have a small office network setup
1 server, 2 desktops, a laptop, wireless router and cable modem.
I only had 1 of the desktops on and the laptop on...
I had my wife log onto her account on the desktop...which she hasnt logged onto in days and it says her account was...
Ive heard of a "Virtual PC" program that would allow me to run windows 2k3 server or any operating system!?!?!
is this true?
do I need the actual software to run a certain OS???
I need to practice and work on win 2k3 for my certs ;)
can anyone help?
TIA
thanks for recommending the program...I did do a search but it didnt turn up much
and most likely Ill probally end up going with a 512 stick and a 256 stick
i dont think it would be a waste
Ill be keeping this laptop
Ill be building a new desktop for the home business and my wife will be getting a laptop for herself
ahhh why not
dell brand specific memory 2GB for $299
yay or nay?
so I will be building a new desktop(read: after the wedding next year lol) so in the meantime I want to upgrade the memory of my POS desktop
Im wondering if this is a good decision or if i should hold off
specs of said POS:
Intell P3 1.0GHz
256MB PC100/133 RAM (dont laugh at me :()
Voodoo...
would it be a waste to upgrade my memory on my laptop from 512MB to 2GB on a Dell Inspiron 9200 w/ Intel 1.60GHz CPU w/ Windows XP Pro and 256mb graphics card??
the only real reason I would even think about a new laptop is a more up to date CPU ya know?
im thinking no...the 2GB upgrade will do...
ok I was finally able to connect by manually adding the ssid and NO security on my wireless router...now thats a nono
its still coming up wireless networks not in range :(
