    Are DDR RAM backwards compatible?

Like the title says, I had to make clear. Are all DDR backwards compatible when it's concerned with the speeds? Would PC3200 work perfectly well in a mobo that supports PC2100 ram? Would the 3200 just work at 2100 speeds?

    RAM Question

Would a DDR2 module work on my motherboard that supports DDR? I figure it would be the same as my previous question, that it would clock down. But I didn't know if DDR2 and DDR are completely different.

    RAM Question

Can anyone else confirm this? That the RAM like PC3200/4000 would clock down to PC2100 speeds? Because there are sales going on that would put them under $90, but my 2100 would cost over 100.

    RAM Question

It's a custom built, my first one. I'm still trying to figure stuff out. The MOBO is a MSI-P4MAM Socket 478. So buying PC2700/3200 Ram is out of the question because it wouldn't work at all anyways?

    RAM Question

I have a PC that only supports PC2100 DDR Ram of up to 2GB. I currently only have 256MB installed, and I want to buy an additional 1GB. Therefore, I have these questions: 1) Should I buy from the same company as my 256MB? Currently, it's Ultra, but I can't seem to find many of those from web...

    Video Card for these Games

I need a video card that will work well for games like Age of Empires 3 & the Sims series. I don't play Half-Life or Counter Strike. I'm looking for a 128MB card, but is a 256MB card even necessary? I don't want any lag in gameplay. Something under $100 would be even better.

    Another RAM ?

Hey, I'm a noobie at this, but I have a motherboard that supports DDR266 PC2100 RAM, but can I upgrade to something faster but still have it work at it's maximum potential? Say if I bought some DDR400 PC 3200 would it work at 400 Mhz? Both my motherboard and CPU supports up to 533 FSB
