    UPS Question

Well...no, not really. :o I'm just very OCD. I guess that's right. It was just that one time years ago that anything like that ever happened...

    UPS Question

Okay then. Thanks a lot! :D A couple of reasons: 1) In the unlikely case that a thunderstorm in the middle of the night were to send a huge surge through the power line. Many years ago, this happened to my dad's computer, and it was completely fried, thus I've been OCD about it ever since...

    UPS Question

My computer's plugged into an Uninterruptible Power Supply. Each night, after shutting the computer off, I power off the UPS and then unplug the computer from it (in case of a midnight lightning strike), and when I want to use the computer again, I plug it back into the UPS and power on the UPS...

Full-screen 4:3 programs not maintaining aspect ratio

Actually, it seems that the problem isn't completely solved. Some full-screen resolutions, such as 800x600, maintain their aspect ratio, but others, such as 1024x768, still stretch. Why would it just arbitrarily decide to maintain aspect ratios on some resolutions but not others?

Full-screen 4:3 programs not maintaining aspect ratio

It seems I've figured it out on my own. For some really bizarre reason, changing my refresh rate to 75Hz rather than 60Hz solved the problem. So it had nothing to do with my drivers; it was actually the fact that I had changed my refresh rate. That's really strange, but I guess if that fixes...

Full-screen 4:3 programs not maintaining aspect ratio

I wasn't sure where to post this, but anyways, 4:3 full-screen games stretch out to fill my entire 16:10 monitor. This distorts the image and I don't like it. I tried setting "Maintain aspect ratio" in the Intel graphics control panel but it makes no difference. Strangely, this option used to...

Video card installation for ASUS Essentio CM6730-US-2AD

A 550ti is probably enough for what I'd be using it for (a few games, video editing/rendering with Sony Vegas, and Project64 1.6) so I don't think I really need a 650ti at the moment.

Video card installation for ASUS Essentio CM6730-US-2AD

Alright. So, I guess I'll just have to get a new PSU then?

Video card installation for ASUS Essentio CM6730-US-2AD

Big as in the physical size of the box, or big as in the wattage? If the former, well, it actually hasn't arrived yet so I can't look inside. If it's the wattage, then I believe it's 300 watts. I hear the 550 Ti requires a constant 12V rail, but I'm not sure if it has that or not.

Video card installation for ASUS Essentio CM6730-US-2AD

Recently I ordered an ASUS Essentio CM6730-US-2AD desktop computer off Amazon. It was on sale for only 300 something dollars for the holidays and such. It has everything I want except a dedicated graphics card. I was hoping to install a GeForce GTX 550 Ti, but I've heard that I may need to put...
