    Budget build advice/tweaks

that's the Geforce 650 Ti and if you are going to spend $170 on a GPU you are better off with a Radeon 7850. You won't need more than 1GB of video memory unless you use a resolution higher than 1920x1200 with anti-aliasing turned on and even then you may not even need it, depending on the game...

    RAM Speeds. Specifications Question?

both of my parents had computers that are way better than his yet both of them complained about how slow they were. The most intense thing on there computers was the anti-virus. All they did was web browse (one used quickbooks). I don't blame them, I have used them before as well and it's...

    RAM Speeds. Specifications Question?

tell him to throw that PC out the window because he is better off plugging a potato into the wall.

Please help with what gfx cards my PSU can run,i have no clue :(

yes and no. If the power is properly distributed between the two rails then you could overclock. The problem is I have no idea how to tell if the power will be properly distributed (getting the graphics card on rail1 and most of everything else on rail2 should work but like I said I don't know...

Hi all i need some advice..

the pattern is that the higher the watt TDP, the more watts your GPU will likely consume at load. As long as you aren't overclocking, actual watt consumption will never go over it's watt TDP but it can get kind of close. now days, the watt TDP of GPU's around the same performance is about...

Please help with what gfx cards my PSU can run,i have no clue :(

ya, the CPU is also on the 12v rail. you would be pushing your luck even without overclocking anything. plus you may have to account for things such as capacitor aging which would reduce your actual watt limit.

Yellow +12V, 14A I believe that is what you want. The main components are powered by the 12v rail. you multiply 12v with its amperage which is 14 and get 168watts. This is an excellent example of cheap and unknown brands with deceitful watt advertising. This is cutting it really close. You...

Hi all i need some advice..

The only thing wrong with that card is that it's watt TDP is a bit high for the performance although it really isn't too bad. This is actually more of a reason not to get 2 of them. using one card is much more stable than using two, especially when it comes to Radeon. If you are going to...

    New Build

you can get such a PC for around $900 (maybe less especially if you get an operating system without a reusable code). The problem with AMD is that most of their processors have very weak individual cores which can be important although not as much as it used to be. If you go AMD, you will...

    gpu choices

Radeon 7750 beats them both for the same price otherwise the 450 is better than the 640. keep in mind that all 3 are mid-end GPUs, they don't have much of a place for high end games.

    Help w/ New PC Build

what part of "you can use the same mobo for the FX-6300 or even get a $70 one with an AM3+ socket" or "you can get an Ivy Bridge LGA 1155 socket motherboard for the same prices" do you not understand? oh and yes, there is absolutely no advantage in getting the i3 3220 even though it is not...

    Help w/ New PC Build

Take a look at benchmarks, especially ones based off of real world usage. 1866Mhz makes almost no difference from 1600Mhz. Quite honestly anything above 1333Mhz isn't that significant. AnandTech - Sandy Bridge Memory Scaling: Choosing the Best DDR3 first one I grabbed, 2 games at bottom of...

    Build Question?

I'd save it until you can buy it all at once. Some components just don't want to stop dropping in price. plus it may be easier to make a mistake this way especially if you aren't entirely sure what you are doing. Saving up will also allow you to have more time to do some research.

    Help w/ New PC Build

stick to the 7770. It is the absolute cheapest GPU I'd get for higher end games, however, the price of the one you have is pretty poor. you can get a 7770 for $120 easily. If you spend almost $150, you are much better off with a Geforce 650Ti. I can't say anything on the Geforce 280...

Another One Of Those New Build Threads

to avoid any issues you should get a third generation Ivy Bridge motherboard with your third generation Ivy Bridge CPU. LGA 1155 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia although it says the Sandy Bridge H61 motherboard can work with Ivy Bridge processors, I believe you need a second gen. Sandy...
