    Sorry I didn't know you posted already. There are two ide connectors on the mobo. IDE 1 and IDE 2. Currently the hdd is connected to IDE 1. And there are two SATA connectors on the mobo aswell.

    Yes I have the cd/dvd-rom hooked up on the old cables and kept the hdd on the cables it's working on and no the bios still doesn't see it. I took the jumper off completley and rebooted and the bios still doesn't see it. I will try the other two settings and report back lol.:)

    Hey alaa_ecv_tc and thanks for your reply. That's what I thought, I cannot understand what the problem is with it. Yes I removed the vista hdd(sata) and connected the xp hdd(IDE) to the lenovo using the same IDE ribbon cable from the dell.
