Try defragmenting your computer. I need not mention what it does since i think almost every pc user knows what it is and the name gives it away a bit. I think this helps me maintain a stunningly fast pc. Alan

And, it all depends what you are actually downloading. If the thing you are downloading is indeed intended for free duplication then of cause, that is legal. If the content is copyrighted then, in the uk at least, that is considered illigal and you can get sued for one heck of a lot of money...

Does the BSOD go away immediately. If not, try and note down the main part of the error message *alternatively take a pic with a digital camera* and send it to us. Using that we can decide what has caused the error. May i ask what operating system the error occurs in?
