I think that 2GB is the max, and 1GB is okay, and 512MB is BLAH!!!

I just reinstalled windows a few weeks ago because it was doing that. I tried to install the latest driver from dell, but it didn't work, so I used the one that came with my computer. Don't ask about using the driver from Nvidia. I had a long ordeal with that one, when I tried to install it...

with my old comp (Win ME, may it never crash, pent 3 1.0, 512MBram) it randomly cuts out the display driver and goes to 640x480 and 16 colors. I do system restore, and it fixes it...for about 10 starts. then it goes back. is it windows me, may it never crash, or is it something else?

I dunno. You can make Atitool so it keeps going up until it artifacts, then it will keep lowering the speed until it doesn't artifact for a certain time. great program!

Still, you will see improvement with dual cores as one core completes all the background programs and the other core focuses on the games. It's kind of like having your personal robot taking out the trash and doing schoolwork while you play around with your computer all day:D
