kmote could my PSU be causing my problem.
i heard it only has 14a on the 12v - i dont know what this means but is it bad? is this for example not giving my GFX enough power to boot the system altho its fans on?

that shutting down fans problem could be the power supply.
i have a similar problem to you, i just built a system, first time and i have no display.
i get no beeps it just runs with no video, if i take out the ram then it beeps 3 times, so the mobo is working.
does your system beep at all?
i will try a diff monitor if that dont work i will go to pc world and get a £30 pci-e card. i cant goto the friend cuz im not totally sure its the card.
it could still be the RAM or mobo.

a plastic thing of an old mobo, and cleared the cmos on my motherboard.
im going to get a GFX card from pc world then see if it works, if it dont i will return it, hopefully they will take it back
yeah i think it could be the graphics.
the rest of the system sound like its working and i got the graphics from a friend for cheap, he wouldnt rip us off, but maybe because its been sitting in a box for a while its dead?
no one i know has pci-e card, i have to buy a new one? if i take the video...
i have tried the second output with no avail.
how can i clear my cmos - just take batery out for a while?
because i have no plastic bit for the jumper.
ive taken it all out and done it on cardboard and i still get 3 beeps with no ram then no beeps with ram in. does that mean the rams faulty?
this is really anoying and its really anoyed my bro too.
should i try and borrow some ddr2 from someone if i can and try that?

I have no jumper (plactic bit) to reset anything, never came with my mobo. i have taken out the battery for 5 mins but will try it again.
i will take the stuff out and run it on cardboard to see if its shorting.

ok, the pc3200 dosent fit in the slots.
basically whats happening now is if i have no ram in i get 3 beeps,
if i put 1 or 2 of my crucial balistix pc5400 in i get no beeps at all.
what does this mean? is it my ram or my mobo or what? help!
I just took out the ram and video card, and the extra cables like USB front and back pannels. Now im getting 3 beeps!!!!
Put the video card back in, still 3 beeps and nothing on screen.

I just built a computer for my brother today, it was my first time.

Anyway...
I turn on the PC, all the fans come on - including the pci-e graphics fan.
The loading and power lights come on at the front.
But....
