    Do I Have Enough Power?

Cool. Thanks for your help. I'll get a couple new cables and try formatting the drive again with that Maxtor program.

    Do I Have Enough Power?

Here goes: Drive came with no drivers, only a piece of paper. Physically installed it, BIOS detected it, looked fine in windows, created 3 partitions: 60, 90 & 100 GB. Formatting only worked (using Disk Management) on the first partition, stalled on second and third. Started to transfer...

how to usb to 8 pin serial eeprom

Yeah, there are adapters out there, look on Best Buy or Future Shop, but be careful. I had one last year that was really crappy - the amount of time I spent trying to make it work, I could have just went out and bought new USB-compliant hardware (which is what I ended up doing).

    Do I Have Enough Power?

Also, another question, if you please: I have 2 IDE cables, an 80-pin on the hard drives, and a 40-pin on the disc drives. My DVD says it will only burn at 16x with an 80-pin cable (with 40-pin it will only burn 8x). Can I switch out the one on the hard drives, or should I just get another cable?

I have a 300W power supply, and I already have installed: a 120GB HD as the master (primary IDE), as well as a LG...
