    Voltage Ratings? too low? (nubius)

    Agggghhhh I just bought a new Antec 430w power supply at best buy... my voltage ratings are the EXACT SAME on Speedfan. Vcore1: 1.65v Vcore2: 2.64v +3.3v: 3.14 +5v: 6.85 (constant) +12v: 11.5-.65 -12v: varies a lot, never -12, -10 at most -5v: -0-4-ish +5v: around 2-4 WHHHHYYYYYYYY?!?!??! I...

    Voltage Ratings? too low? (nubius)

Excess AS5 on the cpu can cause system instability??? My PC has good and bad days now, running prime95 my 12V has dropped to 11.3-11.4ish..... uh oh?

    Voltage Ratings? too low? (nubius)

I don't trust MBM or Speedfan for logging voltages. I put in a 300w temp power supply to test against my 430w normal one and logged the same 6.85v (5v) and 11.5ish (12v). The EXACT same numbers.... permanently. Yeah.

    overheat ??

Aggghhhhh, I downloaded and ran this program and the exact same thing happened to me. I went from 55c to 75c on speedfan yet my processor did not work any harder than usual. What the bloody hell.

BIOS optimized defaults = system instability?

It's a new harddrive. The failsafes also don't help the problem, and every single driver in the system is as up to date as possible. note: the problem was happening on the old hard drive as well but i bought a new one just in case. it still happened.

    -12v error message

New question: What if every hardware monitoring program you use shows multiple PSU's running off voltages? I put in two alternate ones recently and both showed 6.85v (constant) for the +5v and the -12 was never at -12 but closer to -4 or -5.

BIOS optimized defaults = system instability?

bump. anyone ever experience anything like this? I have redone all the BIOS changes I had before but it still crashes. I wonder if reloading the defaults, removing the 3rd party ethernet card and then disabling onboard ethernet/installing 3rd party again would fix it... probably not...

New MoBo recommendations for Socket A processor please

I'm tired of this POS gigabyte 7nf-rz I bought a month or two ago, I am positive the consistent freezes are due to it (something with the LAN) which I fixed but then stupidly reloaded the BIOS defaults. so recommend a new board for an Athlon XP 2200+ please.

thank you for replying. i did put in a d-link and it was ok UNTIL i reloaded optimized. i tried fail safe and it still froze. :(

BIOS optimized defaults = system instability?

I have a gigabyte 7nf-rz, Athlon XP 2200+, ATI Radeon 9600 pro, windows xp SP2 I've been having problems w/ my computer since I replaced mobo and processor, but I finally fixed them when I realized it was the built in network card on the mobo causing random system hangus... often in games. so...

    Memory not clocking in right?

oh i'd have to turn the TRAS# from 7 to 6 as well, missed that. i wish i knew what those acroynms meant, heh. i have never paid any attention to my ram besides the fact that it's pushed in tightly.

    Memory not clocking in right?

So I need to change the CAS# from 2.5 to 2.0 it appears so that it'll run at 133mhz (so says cpu-z i believe). time for some BIOS fiddling, eh? :) and only one stick (the 512, i also have a 256) says it will run at 133, the other says 166 for both CAS# settings if I read this correctly. would...

    Memory not clocking in right?

my fsb:dram is listed as 4:5, how would I go about changing it? I have an athlon xp 2200+ running on fsb 133, mobo is gigabyte 7nf-rz or is it not that big of a deal? I think in BIOS I have the RAM running under 'by spd' rather than auto or forced to a %.
