So I also found this command to decrypt files on NTFS Volumes but it says ERR Error Access Denied because probably you have to be logged in as the user that encrypted the files to use this command...but it was worth a try. Maybe it will help someone in the future...

Yup, I have no idea why I said to flash the bios, I meant clear the cmos but it got lost in translation somewhere between my brain and fingers. There is usually a jumper setting on your motherboard to do it. Look in your manual or find your manual online if you're unsure of how to go about it.
unplug the computer from the wall and take out the CMOS batt for awhile, and while you're at that - flash the bios. that's where I would start anyways. No idea why that would happen thou
haha yes, definately stay away from those options. When you scan the drive try the quick test first to see if there are any "obvious" errors, then try the advanced. If you get an error code other than "0x00" you have problems hehe
download the ultimate boot cd (free) and run one of the tests on there (good cd to have anyways) or else you could find a stand alone program by your hard drive manufacturer. I like the Hitachi Drive Fitness Test. Just google it to find it.
