what determines your speed is the service you pay for. i'm paying for 3 meg and getting 1.3...

from what i know, sp3 is just all of the updates after sp2 rolled into one. i have no experience with media center so you're on your own there.

it's been about 6 days since we got the new modem. i've tested periodicaly since i've gotten in and the highsets i've gotten so far is 1400 and something kbps. about average

hey guys, haven't been on in a few months, mainly because it's been smooth sailing. just upgraded to 3mbps dsl because it was only $6 more than 1mbps problem is is that i'm only getting 1.3 . any ideas? the isp is windstream.

i've got that case and i'll warn you, it gets irritating getting to the cd drives if you have things on the desk.

the time of day doesn't matter. it starts about 10 minutes after the program has been running and starts going down from there.

i'm using windstream and from what i can tell it has no limits on torrents but they may. i would just restart it (which ehlps) but alot of the time i am doing something else in the mean time and can't. it may be the fact that all of the trackers are banning us IP's.... and yea, i know about not...

up until a month ago i havn't had any problems with torrents but latly they are finicky. i use utorrent and everything is good for the first 30 60 minutes but after that i get reduced speeds and less peers. any ideas?

I've got the abit IP35 pro and i have no problems with it. i haven't over clocked yet but I've heard good things.

i'm running crysis just fine on 2 gig. could be that i'm using XP but i've never even maxed out 2 gig with photoshop, WMP, 2 sessions on fire fox with 5 tabs each, and some random programs running in the back. with all of that i only managed 1.5.

it depends on the chip. my old AMD 2000+ XP would run 60-65 but it was good up until something like 75. it all depends on the chip.

only thing i can think of is that it may cut into your PC image if you're running above 1280 x 1024, since tha tis what the max res ot the box is.
