What Linux distro do you use?

I use Slackware and CentOS. CentOS is a lot more user friendly but Slackware is the best if you want to learn how to do pretty much anything in Linux.

Another 'Look at my list and tell me what needs fixing' Thread :D

Personally I would stay away from Western Digital. Seagate are really the only HDD products that I have used that actually Last more than a year and I only purchase them for my shop. Just a suggestion but I would stick with Seagate all the way and just drop the others. Plus, Seagate is the only...

    Power button.........and nothing !

You might test a different PSU and test your current PSU in another system to rule it out... It may also be your board. It is more common than you think for High-end items to arrive DOA. I once purchased a Mobo for around $300 and it was DOA. If you PSU tests alright on another machine I would...

Looking to have two bootable hard drives on one pc (a few questions)

I believe you can edit your boot.ini file to see the two drives. I am not sure how or if this is true, but I know that with Linux and Windows you can edit that to change how they are found, and what Windows (or GRUB in the Linux Side) reads each of them. Kidwell28

    New Build, can't POST

You'd better check your memory. You have to make sure it is seated really well. Also sometimes certain types of memory will not be compatible with you board so that could be an issue. If your case is opened turn it on and see if you can feel the HDD spinning by touching the top of it. I've had...

difference between usb 1.1 and 2.0 cable

USB 2.0 cable allows for a faster transfer rate than USB 1.1. USB 2.0 Cable works with both 1.1 and 2.0 slots but it works at its highest throughput in 2.0 slots. I am not sure on the speeds but I know 2.0 is a lot faster than 1.0. Kidwell28

    Windows ME

I tried to get them to change, but they want their ME. Which, of course, is worthless but it's what they want. It came with the System and they don't want to pay to get a different copy. Kidwell28

    Windows ME

I know this is pathetic but, I am working on a customer's machine. I needed to reload the windows ME and their old dell came with a disk. I know Windows ME is an upgrade from either Windows 2000, Windows 95, or Windows 98. So, when I reinstall ME over their old copy of ME just to get rid of all...
