Hello. I have a P3-laptop with 30gb hdd. I would like to upgrade to 60gb hdd which I also have. I've pulled the hdd out of the laptop, connected it to usb (with usb to 2.5" adapter) to another computer. I tried to do it with Norton Ghost - but didn't succeed, It's either that I don't know how...

TravelMate 3212NWXMi - Urgent RAM Upgradation...!!!

Computer speed doesn't only depent on hardware specs, but on operating system, and your skills and installed software. For example, I'm currenly writing from my tiny (1kg) laptop which is Pentium 2 (300mhz) w/ 128mb ram. And it's working really fast. But that's because i don' use windows XP...

    New case, Power problems

Of coure it can. Think that your motherboard has thousand of connection paths between chips, and literally billions of transistor (inside the chips mostly). Even a slight bending braking one of these connections might be enough That's a theory of course, Maybe you just missed something, and all...

    Harddrive

No, I don't think so. But why do you suspect those drives? are they bad? Even with I plugged an IDE cable the wrong way - I never saw any damage to mobo or hdd. With Sata you can't even plug it the wrong way, So I don't see what you are afraid of. But strictly theoretically speaking - it can...

    New case, Power problems

If the same scenario occurs with both PSU's - than only means that psu isn't the problem obviousely. Both of them are overloaded when turned on, and then they shut down. Anyway, i't probably motherboard , but you still can try to isolate (and maybe fix) the problem. Unplug everything from the...

    Harddrive

Well, literally - NO, I never saw a pan big enough to fry a whole computer, but a laptop will do though... If by "fry computer" you mean "computer malfunction" [from space odyssey:2001 :-) ] Than yes, It can Because had disk is necessary part for computer operation, if harddisk breaks down, you...

    New case, Power problems

Don't remove anything! You will kill your board. Listen, the pins missing might be notheing wrong. In this cable there are many parallel wired carrying same line current that are doubled or trippled for redundancy for redundancy. If it's standard 20 pin power ATX connector, it's scheme should...

Recovering files from hdd with partition error with Winternals Disk Commander

Does the setup see any other partitions on the hard drive? for example there is c:, d:, e:, but it just can't recognize the system partition and cannot find a operating system there. the ghin is - the most programs that do this sort of thing - require you to have a working operating system. If...

    New case, Power problems

It might be, after following CrazeD advice check everything - maybe you dropped something metalic that shortens the board, or cables plugged incorrectly, etc. PSU shuts off when it's either overloaded or there is short circuit on either of it's power lines (3.3v, 5v, 12v)

    Ahhh!

Does it happen only when you are watching TV? Because if it does, it might be some overlay/display driver problem.

    blue error screen

Defragmentation is the hardest task for hard disk to perform. Much harder than countinuous writing at max speed for a long time. B/c fragments of the file are located at differnet physican places on the platters - hard disk head's mount has to move constatnly from place to place non stop for...

    My PQI Turbo DDR2 800 is &*@!$'d I think

Benny, I don't know what your computer skills are. But have you even opened your PC? Instead of risking wasting your money and/or time - you need to diagnose a prolem, Isolet the problematic component, and then you will 100% know what to do (either replace, or reinstall..) You said that your...

    Plug and Play Problems

Check if you can see your devices in device manager. If it's a disk device, check what you see in computer management->disk management utility.
