My point was , I was trying to isolate the problem between the mobo and the Cpu; or any external drives.

Just try to 'power-up' with the mobo,Cpu, and fans..... outside of the case. What is the exact PSU model# ? Include ampere rating on the 12volt rail. Maybe its only your PSU that's bad!

Gkep..... Inferior PSU have little or no 'voltage/current regulation' to protect them from defective 'loads'....... like your computer system. Your system was probably drawing excessive current for your PSU and your PSU died. I would dis-connect everything...

Leon.... You may have too many programs running at 'Startup'. Use the Run command ..... msconfig........ Uncheck programs( one/two at a time) that may be the problem........ remember which ones they are! see link...

There are different (4) choices in that menu box. Verify you have "Shutdown" marked not '"Re-set".

You can use two different types of memory in this board....see pgs. 8 & 15. The jumpers must be in/out depending on the type of Ram you are using. I mentioned this in a prior post. If you use DDR memory..... I interpret it to mean the jumpers must be IN. Also check the jumpers for...

Remove mobo from case. Place on anti-static bag and power-on with 'barebone' parts. Verify your 'case speaker' is connected to the proper pins, also your other front panel parts.

OK...... Freeze-up..... That may indicate a memory problem. How many sticks of memory are you using? If more than one...... just try to POST with one stick. * List all system components..... otherwise we are working in...
