Just checks the hd, not the files and folders, for errors. Mainly useless untill you really need to check. Then it doesn't matter because your hdd would then be worthless.

Seems like you got spammed... ouch. I suggest getting a firewall such as this then when the programs ask for internet acess you can see where the programs are and delete them.

I personaly upgraded a ME machine to XP and demanded that all my machines be running XP becuase there are so many advantages to it. That is if you can spend the dough. Just my 512 ram input :)

Try running spybot s&d. Sounds to me like you might have either a virus or some bad spy/ad ware. Heres the link: security.kolla.de goto the download section and choose Spybot S&D. Run it and it will usually come up with a ton of stuff, mainly bad.

Yep, I agree. Currently, IE doesn't stand a chance against Mozilla. That is if the users don't just say "Well, it came from M$, so it must be good and fast and secure, so I won't even bother looking for something better, let alone think about trying it out." Ahh, the wonders (laugh/chough) of...

Personally, I use the Mozilla App suite, firebird and IE. By far the fatest is Firebird, but I prefer the multifunction App suite.
