You will need optical output to your stereo or something similar. And a home surround sound system will not have the same connectors that a computer surround sound system has. If you have optical out on your card and optical in on your reciever (or coaxial/digital) then you can do it.

Right click your connection, click properties, go to TCP/IP, set subnet mask on both to 255.255.255.0 and IP's should resemble 192.168.1.x or 192.168.0.x

Actually, for school computers, go skimpy one the HDD and CPU, and put in lots o ram. That is the thing I hate most about my schools (and librarys computers)... takes LOOOONG time for windows to boot, and do initial program startups. That being said, I reccomend 2000, and possibly novell...

Ya, a Power PC CPU is about 2x as fast as a similarly clocked Intel CPU, and just slightly faster than a similarly clocked AMD 64. But they cost a lot more and have much more limited software. Plus there is no (easy) linux for mac!

I would say 2x74GB drives... unless the big one has NCQ (native command queing) Raid 0 is just like having one disk at 1.5-2x the speed. All data is split equally between the 2 and written/read almost silmoutaneously.
