    Extra budget for gaming rig...

I was thinking maybe something like going SLI? with two 8800gts, 320mb but then i guess i would have to look at a new mobo, prob new case, and better cooling I guess my alternative is to go with a 8800 GTX and get some decent cooling for overclocking? However, with the added cooling, such as...

    Extra budget for gaming rig...

Recently i discovered that i had around an extra $500 left on my budget, so rather than spend it on games i figured it would probably be better to try and 'future proof' my computer. This is what i concluded would be the build... CPU [+$308] Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz MOBO [+146]...

The side panel looks cool, but from what i have read about the 8800GTS cards i probably need the extra vents. Plus, i only see the front of it below my desk, so no worries.

[EDIT: This post's components will be upgraded] Through rigorous posting i have decided to build a computer... This is the following structure i am thinking of constructing. (my budget is around US$2000, i'm an aussie but American prices are better) [Sorry if you have seen a similar post...

    Put ice in foil

Putting ice in foil, interesting idea. But how does this sound... If you really want to keep your computer cold. Invest in a superconductive computer, and invest in a lifetime supply of liquid nitrogen to cool it.

    Laptop beeping

When i installed new memory on my laptop, i didn't push the Ram all the way into the socket properly. This caused my laptop to beep and not turn on. I'm guessing you have a similar problem, so try to reinsert the memory, (you will know when you get it in right, because it will click and its obvious)

I'm most likely looking at a budget around $2600 - 2900 US (I say US, because its a global currency) for a made computer. If i make it myself, probably $2200 - $2500? The problems i see with building a PC myself is having to get drivers, individual warranties, construction itself seems like a...

The funny thing about money is that, when you save up for something, you get to that point where you no longer want to spend it, (or maybe thats just a wierd thing i got going for me). And hence i came to the conclusion that although there are no real restraints on how much i can spend (in the...
