If you're signed in to Chrome, it will sync browsing history (not necessarily yours, but someone else on your account) across multiple machines. Someone else could've been surfing the web on that library computer you forgot to sign-out on. Just a theory.

What kind of budget do you have? You'll get better performance out of Intel than you will out of AMD. Of course, Intel will cost you more.
