Turning your computer off each night and when not in use...

I think that the general rule of thumb is; if you're not going to use the computer for several hours, turn it off. Otherwise, if you're just stepping away for a while, just put it in sleep mode.

Looking for Advice on My First Build

I'll look into his PSU model's reviews and see how good it is. I'm not too worried because he's used it for a while and it still works fine. I trust him, but if it ends up costing the same to just buy a newer one then I will.

Moving Steam games to a new computer

Sorry, I must have messed up somewhere. My computer now thinks it's a label machine. Pieces of paper keep shooting out of the print screen button with bits of my desktop on it. In other news, I got the folders copied to my external hard drive. Thanks for the help guys.

Alright, that works out great because that means I will be able to afford this PC, haha. And it seems to be a great build for the price.

Looking for Advice on My First Build

Here we go, I went with the 3258 and found a CPU cooler for it. Also picked out a better graphics card. The price is higher than I want it, but not by too much. Hopefully my friend can sell me his power supply for cheap and I can knock $30 off. The wattage looks really low (217) so I can't...

I'll look farther into the 3258. I need a CPU that isn't terribly expensive, but can run most modern games at reasonable settings. Like I said, I'm not looking to run at max settings, but I want to be able to play games at Medium settings. I have my eye especially on Battlefront 3 in December...

Moving Steam games to a new computer

Hey guys, Dell is sending me a replacement laptop and I was wondering how I would go about backing up my Steam games to my portable hard drive. I want to avoid having to re-download all of them when I get my new computer.

Alright, thanks! I may have to spend a bit more, but it'll all be worth it in the end.

Looking for Advice on My First Build

I did some more scouring and came up with this new build. I used PCPartPicker this time. This PC fits my budget nicely and I believe I've picked good-quality parts. AMD Athlon X4 860K, MSI Radeon HD 6450, Raidmax ATX-809B (Black) - System Build - PCPartPicker What do you guys think?

Looking for Advice on My First Build

Hey guys, I'm very new at building my own PC, but I would like to try it. I've been researching how it all works and I think I've managed to pull together a decent build. I would really appreciate any sort of advice you guys can give me on what parts I should change or if there's any way I can...
