I think what he was talking about Kazama, is when manufactuters downgrade their own cards by locking them off, and selling them as a new lower grade card. A good example would be the ATi GTO2 which can unlock/overclock to the X850XTPE.

I would get the 1GB stick, so in the future, when you upgrade you can utlize the dual-channel with 2x1GB.

That card is not going to last 3-4 years. No card is going to last that long. There's nothing to worry about, its a fact of our rapidly evolving technology. The X1900XTX will be Mid-Range in two years I expect. But aside from that, it is a good card and you'll enjoy it. Have fun with it. :D

I recommend the second one, which has lower timings. You don't need PC4000 unless you are going to overclock.

So, if your running a bot, you don't really need that great of graphics. A 6800 should handle that. And as far as dual monitors, as long as the graphics card has two DVI/VGA ports then your good.
