Well, no, that's why I'm asking. I wanted to plug it in just to see if it works, because my computer is still in repair in California. Should the fan on the PSU turn on if its plugged in and switched on? I also tried connecting it to the fans on the case and none of them would turn on either.

OK, so I got the power supply you suggested, but when I plug it in and try to switch it on, nothing happens. There's a yellow LED light that comes on, but the fan doesnt activate, and when I connect it to the case fans, nothing happens. Am I missing something, or is my unit defective?

So I'll be able to play all recent games on max settings or close to max settings? And a secondary question, which manufacturer should I go with? EVGA? PNY? XFX?

So I should go with the 320 and wait for a 9 series. OK. Man you guys are awesome, saving me money all over the place :D Is there a better card with better performance available? I mean, whats the best card out there for around the same price range as the 640, or is the 320 the best deal and...

It's twice as much MB though... wouldn't that help with games that come out a year or so from now? I'm looking for as high performance as I can afford, but if its only 2FPS then bleh, but long term wouldn't it be a better investment?

Just checking, since it never really occurred to me to check :p But the 8800GTS is probably the best card for me, correct? I don't have enough to spend on the 8800GTX, so barring that card, the 8800GTS is the way to go right?
