ok, did that, Opened with Notepad and it was just blank. the one displayed is the only one I didn't delete yet. I guess I'll just delete it as nothing abnormal has been happening to my system (yet). thanks for the help

Yeah, I'm running Zone Alarm Pro, Spybot, and the virus scanner from V com. I recently checked for updates for the v scanner and spybot. Hmmm. I've just never seen those before.

Anyone seen these? I've noticed them the past couple of days. There were just a few so I deleted them. Scanned them first and it didn't detect any virus. When I checked out the property box it showed them as having no size. Haven't got a clue. Here is a .gif snapshot I made of one.

thanks for the info. so it would be best to create a partition for each OS and another for all the other files. would you recommend installing Linux on a different HDD altogether or would that make any difference?

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Is that pretty common? Different brands of memory don't work that well together?
