thanks guys i have made up my mind now. 1 raptor 74 for OS and normal programs, and 2 in raid 0 for my games. If i need more room for my games or something down the road i can rebuild the array, adding another raptor, and not have to reinstall the OS. My files (mostly music) will go on my...
thanks man looks like you haven't been decieved after all LOL.
i have access to the raptors for not much money, so as i was trying to explain, i'm trying to use that advantage to the very best that i can.
my real question was is it better for performance to install games on a hard drive...
correct me if i'm wrong, but 4 74 gig disks in raid 0 would make 296 gigs wouldn't it? as for price, thats not a concern, because i have sources. using the equipment i told you about, what is the best cofiguration? there will be NO files on this computer. OS and GAMES that is it.
good suggestions, thanks. But this computer will not be used for storage. i have a seperate computer that i'll be using for a server. so should i install the os on a raid array or a single drive? and what about the hard drives for games? raid 0 with two raptors should work great.
No offense, but i hate AMD. my unlocked 3.73 and ram with endless overclocking potential will close the gap in gaming performance, and still blast through ordinary tasks that AMD lags at.
Hello all just joined, so this is my first post here. I'm building a HUGE gaming system, and i was wondering about using a single sata drive for my os, and a raid 0 with 2 or more disks for my games, is this a good way to go? i'll put all of my system specs under this for review.
Mobo= Asus...
