Hey guys, I got help building my first computer here in 2009 and this is what I went with:
Cooler Master Full ATX Tower
Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield
Asus P6T LGA 1366
G Skill Ripjaws Series 12GB F3-12800CL9T
Corsair Force Series 180GB SATA III SSD
Corsair CMPSU-750TX 750W
GTX 275 Superclocked...
Dont need mouse, keyboard, monitor etc. $600 - $700 goes towards just the PC.
Need a video card that has a TV Tuner, and that'll play some games? If that's possible.
Dont have any preference on brands.
I'd like to build this from scratch.
Looking for ideas on a intermediate gaming / HTPC machine.
Just looking to play TF2, Company of Heroes, CS Source on high res 1650x1080 (whatever the res is) and use it as a HTPC.
Any suggestions for a good build for that? Looking for it to be quiet too and under $600 possibly.
Thanks!
Thanks for the heads up, ill look into that. I was thinking it might be easier just to get something from Dell? Especially if i dont care about the size.
Manually set the RAM timings and the voltage up to 1.6V (mem specs) last night and it booted up with 6GB. Did another boot this morning and its back down to 4gb.
I'm assuming the motherboard is not compatible w/ the ram? I've read somewhere else and some people have said that it might be...
Windows 7 64 bit.
Memtest came back with no errors.
Reseated RAM couple of times (everytime after a reseat, windows will recognize 6gb, but will go back down to 4gb after a while)
Bios settings left at default ( Upgraded Bios to newest version, didnt fix the problem)
Set timings to RAM...
