Im getting this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835109122
paired up with a 4800 rpm tornado fan. my goal was to hit 2.8 ghz with this chip...but I dont know if its going to happen due to only having an option of 1.5 for the vcore.
I tried 2.4 with ram where it was...blue screen....de clocked it to 333 and it booted up fine, I would imagine that the the ratio was too high for the ram to be stable.
I cant try any faster until I get better cooling on tuesday.
well its definetly the ram, I under clocked it to 333 and 2.4 booted fine...so I know where to start from now.
but my mobo cant go past 1.5 vcore? doesnt that seem low?
My setup is in my sig, everytime I try to overclock past 2.3 via bios or windows...I get a blue screen. and with the A8N...can you only do cpu voltage of 1.5? everywhere else I read it was 1.65...but that doesnt come up as an option in my bios.
what should my FSB be? multiplier? HTT multiper?
DFI is like rolling dice, you either get a good one, or you get a horrible one... I'd go with ASUS, they've been around longer, name is more backed up and I feel its a stronger board over the DFI.
I have a XFX 7800GT and I was wondering how much I could overclock it and be safe with the stock cooling? and do they make any better air cooling options for the 7800 series?
