Some suspect programs.

rawrite is a imaging floppy disk program and S32EVNT1.DLL is the Symnatec event library.

Go ahead and uncheck all of them entries, reboot and try again

Also get rid of Mcafee, there are better AV's out there.

Try Avg, Kaspersky or Avast! if you want a free AV or NOD32 for paid.

okay, I have run memtest and it all seems to be fine, so its not a problem with the ram.

Any ideas what else it could be?

Why not try a good ol' fasioned format

I would only do a format as a last resort.

A format is always the easy and lazy way out if you're having software troubles. Why not try a repair install first?

Okay, I would really rather not do a system install but this problem is really starting to annoy. When I log in I get really a really slow login when it hangs around on "loading personal settings" for a bit and then windows loads up and the apps. take a while to load. I only have around 35 processes running and have sorted out msconfig. I also have checked my memory and there aren't any problems there. Does anybody have any clue as to what could be the problem here?

If so i would greatly appreciate your help




p.s. I do apologize for the length that this problem has gone on and appreciate you are probably quite sick of it but please, help!
