I have had to do a fresh install on an older 20GB HDD, after issues with my master 80GB HDD with OS(XP)...a long story.
But now due to slow speeds using programs on this older HDD, I want to see if I can test and resurrect the failed 80GB HDD after re-formatting, to ensure satisfactory operation, and re-install OS.
I have tried Seatools for Windows from Seagate, which I believe is suitable for Maxtor also. This hasn't worked thru a USB caddy, any ideas?
Please recommend alternative procedure/software to ensure it has no errors etc ….does it need to be connected as a slave?
