Hello,
My computer was attacked with an arsenal of malware/vundo. I believe I have sufficiently taken care of the infection with spybot, bitdefender, spysweeper, windows defender, and a couple registry cleaners. Over the course of this two-day infection, it seems my automatic updates have been disabled. To top it off, I cannot use windows update at all. I've attempted to enable it again after I cleaned the spyware using the Administrative Services options, but it gives me the horrible error code 1058 (something about devices and crap.) I've also attempted the suggestion in the previous thread about the regsvr32 commands. Does anybody have any solutions?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
