I thought that I had seen this posted before but did not find it. A friends computer running XP Home is real slow booting up. It takes app. 5 minutes for it to boot up to where you can run any programs on it. It only has 128m ram. It is a HP with a 1.4 processor. I went through the startup in msconfig and unchecked everything that he did not need to start. It is still very slow on startup and runs slower than it should. Geting ready to add another 256m ram to it. Any other suggestions? It is not on the net and will not be so I took Norton out.

Every time I go to that link, they say that bootvis is no longer avaliable from that site. Have not found it yet.

As well what does the startup folder look like ? How much is loading that isn't nessecary ?

The computer will not be on the net, it is used for church records only. What is nessecary?
