XP setup freezes when loading - help

When I try to load XP Home it hangs at "setup is loading files (kernel debugger dll)"

It is a brand new computer from tigerdirect. Asus A8V, XP3400, 512MB, 80GB. Could it be faulty RAM?

Any help would be appreciated.

Could also be a faulty motherboard, power supply, even the copy of XP could have been damaged...so you need to elimate one item at a time. Liz
