Xp Pro Sp3 Registry Question (not too important)

My co-worker self proclaimed genuis said to do this tweak but I don't entirely trust him becuz of his work performance.

He said in the registry
HKEY Local Machine>System>CurrentControlSet>Control>PriorityControl>Win32PrioritySeperation set the value to "0" right now it says 26
*he said it will increase performance

My question is, is this ok or a do not do type a thing?

another quick question is Adober Reader safe?

Any changes to the Registry are tricky at best. Funny how he says to set teh value to 0 yet every search result i see says leave it at 26 for the best performance.

Adobe Reader is as safe as every other application on the planet. Not a single application in the world is 100% safe. They all have flaws, they all can affect your system.
