XP Pro boot up message?? Help!

When booting up XP I get the following message frequently:

One of the files containing the systemÂ’s registry data had to be recovered by use of a log or alternate copy. The recovery was successful.

I click ok and the user select screen pops up and everything runs fine. What does it mean and how do I stop it?

Something is screwed with your registry or system files. I would reccomend scanning system for spyware using spybot S&D 1.4, Adaware SE 1.6, and Microsoft Anti Spyware beta..then run a good virus scan. Then after all that when the system is clean stick in your XP disc and run a repair on the OS itself to restore system files back to original. That would be the safest route.
