XP installing problems

Hi,

I've been trying to reinstall xp on my computer without success.
I get as far as "inspecting hardware..." and after that all i get is black screen.

I've formatted c: drive with PowerMax but that didnt help either.

I only got 1 ram so cant take that one out. I have also taken all the PCI cards out.

Really need some help here!!!

try another cd drive or another cd. the cd could be scratched or the cd drive could be bad.

Also if it is a sata hdd you will need the sata drivers in order for XP to see the drive. Have you made any hardware changes?

Tried another CD, no luck. Havent done any hardware changes.

Set your BIOS to default, then disable all onboard hardware, like audio, graphics etc.

Does the screen go into standby mode (amber light on monitor) or does it stay green?

disabled everything. still hangs after inspecting hardware...

tried also with win2003server CD and that one hangs as well.

wasn't sure what you meant with screen thing???
