Default xp home sharing c drive

I do not have much knowledge of XP but just added an xp home sp1 os to my network. Many of my applications expect to be able to share the "program files" folder and were designed to simply find the program files folder as a folder just below the mapped drive letter.

It appears that XP will only let me share the "programs file" as a unique folder share. IS there any way to turn this feature off. Our network is connected via a router and I do not want microsoft telling what I can or can not share on my network.

OK i'm guessing here, but you do install apps on a network mapped drive? Bad idea, install them local on your C: drive. XP generally doesn't let you share whole drives, as this is a MAJOR security risk. Thats all I can offer
