xp home network connection problem

good day! i have 3 pcs all with windows 7 connected to a home network to share files and a printer. however, when i try to connect to the same network using my XP pro laptop it does the wizard, asks me to restart, and afterwards simply nothing happens. it doesn't see the other computers on the network and it doesn't see any printers either. any way to fix this? i always keep all my windowses updated, and i basically just need to access the printer from my XP machine sometimes. and im also positive that im entering the right workgroup name in the wizard, just can't seem to get it working for some reason

Do you have them in the same workgroup?

yes thanks for the reply, the problem seems to have dissipated on its own. for whatever reason after a few more restarts its working now

Thats good to hear. Sometimes i've had XP machines just work after a few restarts myself randomly.. More so after I get mad at it and just shut down. =P Glad to hear it is working for you.
