XP Help!!

Hi, I have been having some serious XP problems,

1. I keep getting a "WMI" error and it keeps asking me to report back. Its an error screen that constantly popping up. I have no idea what WMI is, anyone has any idea?

2. Everytime I reinstall XP, it adds on a new XP to the OS selection page. For instance, when I boot, it will show the 3 options, windows 98 (my C drive), windows XP (D drive), windows XP (D drive). It shows two XP because it reinstalled it. And it will show more XP option if I keep reinstalling it. Does anyone how to get rid of that?

When you boot to your c drive, edit the boot.ini file and remove one of the xp sectors ..

I have 98 on C, and XP on D, should I edit the boot.ini file in 98? or XP?
