Default XP- can I swap installation to another computer?

Hi, this has probably been asked to death (sorry!) but I couldn't find anything on search. I have a copy of windows XP pro, bought for my computer when I reformatted, so its fully installed etc.

Now I know I can't install the same xp on another computer, but I was going to build a new computer as a direct replacement for this one, hence, I was wondering if its possible to uninstall/unregister this copy from this computer, and reinstall it on my new computer- surely you should be able to do this?

If you're talking about the activating the new installation, enter the same product key as before, then activate over the phone. When you enter your code, it'll be invalid, so ask to speak to an operator, tell them you've swapped computers, and they'll give you the new activation code.
