perhaps a repair install otherwise. I take it you can't load safe mode?

no it wont even go into safe mode? what the heck

The winlogon.exe is a critical file. That is what is used to logon to the system. That is why it wont allow you into safe mode. You dont have the choice of which account to choose to logon to.

Maybe you can try to use the Recovery Console from the XP CD to replace the files that are missing.

i tried to stall windows 2000 over all of this now it's a mess how do i wipe all the clean and start from scratch?

Use the 2000 CD. There is a option to format right within the setup procedures.

basically you insert you windows 2000 cd. restart your computer and hopefully you bios is set to boot from CD. by now a windows installation menu would have come up follow instructions untill it asks where to install windows 200 it will then show you your HDD and its partitions. format your old partitions untill you have none and create a new one. select this as the destination for windows 2000 and carry on with the installation instructions
