The only difference is that the XP X64 doesnt have as good driver support or software support. It is getting better but it isnt as good as the x86 (32 Bit) version of XP.
you will get a 50 percent performance boost in xp64. I use it for video chores, but I use my media center 32 bit (I have a tri-boot system) for everything else.
