those 3 files in the process list run up memory usage to about 125K (each).
I saw wuauclt spike to 189K.

anyway, when i turn on my computer (windows xp pro, SP3) with the latest updates.
those 3 files run or do something, until they go away (which takes about 15-20 minutes), my PC is just slow --- they don't completely hog the CPU, but they are taking some resources, as nothing wants to run with those exes are doing whatever they are doing.

this started about 3 weeks ago?

I read / researched a little --- i believe MS has some issue with updates and the exe checks for updates and gets messed up???

anyone have any feed back on this?

thanks

i noticed similar issues with wuauclt and svchost when windows patches are needed on a machine. WUAUCLT is Automatic updates in windows and is launched by svchost. svchost.exe can launch multiple times for different processes. you can use Process explorer to determine which process is used by svchost.exe
