I opened up a word document yesterday and for some reason it had gridlines throughout it. I had never had that on that document before. I went and looked at other documents and they all had them too. Now when I open up and start new documents in print view there is gridlines. What gives and how do I get rid of them???

There's several questions that come to mind:
  • Are you working in a table in Word? If so, it always shows the grid lines but won't print it unless you format it to do so.
  • If you're not working in a table, but are working in a different format than the default, then check out the format settings.
  • If you print the document, does it have the grid lines? If not, then it's just in the raw document formatting. Again, check your format settings.
