winxp using s-video

I am trying to use an s-video cable to connect my laptop to my tv to watch movies. while the laptop is on i cant get a signal. when I restart the computer I get a signal but after a few seconds it goes back to snow. any ideas? I got it to work with my friends computer that is xp as well but still no dice with mine

what is the vid card on the laptop? Have u installed the latest drivers for the svideo output?
and is ur laptop screen still on when u plug in the tv to it?

yes it is on when i plug it in. I will try turning it off and plugging everythin in. it is a ati mobility 128 agp 4x (dell). as of the driver..i really dont know. the driver version is 5.1.2001.0

hmm, go to www.ati.com, and look for the drivers for the ati mobility 128 and install them, there should be something about connecting the tv if i remeber well. 5.1 sounds old, lol
