winxp first install

I have an oem winxp mc 05 dvd. I set my p5b e to boot from the dvdrw rom cdrw rom drive and have the winxp dvd in the drive, but i keep getting the msg: reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. I can here the drive reading the dvd but nothing happens, just this msg over and over again. Plz help

If possible try getting another disc (anything that is bootable) just to eliminate the disc being the problem.
If you find that other software boots, its the disc.
If no other sfotware boots, try another device (floppy for example)
If that works, try another CDROM/DVDROM if you can
