WinPE, Ghost32 and Vista Buissness - Issues.

Hey.

I've experienced some problems with WindowsPE, Ghost32 (bootable Norton Ghost) and Windows Vista at my job.

The problem is. When I make an image of a Vista Buissness pc (A HP DC7800 pc), using Windows PE with ghost32 on it and I'm trying to use the newly made Vista image on a clean DC7800, I get a winload.exe error (I'll post the error code ASAP if nessasary). This works fine with WinXP. Is it true that it's not possible to restore Vista images with ghost32? I'm using ghost32 version 11.02. I haven't been able to find a newer one, even though the 11.5 one seems to be available.

We also have a Ghost Cast server at my job where the serves distributes the image via network boot. And that never fails.

Any suggestions?
 
It is possible to restore a Vista Image. I have done it.

Are you sure the machines are EXACTLY the same. All the same hardware and everything?

Vista is not as forgiving with Driver loading as XP was.
 
That still shows changes in the hardware profile that Vista has on the Ghost Image. Which would cause this error.

Vista is not forgiving at all with hardware changes and it images. You would be better off using a network install instead of trying to use a Ghost image.
 
I've now tried both to make the image file with the factory hardware and to restore the image on the same computer. That didn't help. There is Vista SP1 on the image, if that helps. I've tried to make an image without SP1 too. That didn't help either. I've saved a log file from the operation. Here you go.
