Talking Windows XP VPN - Ain't workin' right!

I have setup windows xp on my home box to accept incoming VPN connexions using Network Connections. I've tested it using the windows vpn client on the same machine and it makes the connexion.

However, when I try dialing it from another machine, it starts the connection, then sits there verifying the name and password and never connects, whether the firewall is on or off on the server. I am able to ping the machine remotely and ftp to it, but I just can't VPN.

What am I not seeing/doing? Any solutions?

BTW...The reason I want to connect this way, is so that I can access my itunes library from work - by sharing it over the VPN.

If the VPN server is behind a router, Port Mapping will need to be done on the router. Standard port usage is 1723. You might also need to configure your router for PPTP Passthrough. Port usage for IPSec is 500, 50-51. These ports will have to be forwarded to the VPN server's IP
