microsoft doesnt care about windows xp pro, because they assume somebody has a proper serial for it, and arent distributing it illegally.

i have windows xp home OEM, upgrade, and retail and suprisingly, they work!

*one kid at my school made illegal copies of xp 2 years ago, and was selling them for $10 a piece* and they were home edition sp1

i had installed xp on another hard drive for somebody else, and it didnt need activation. it was xp pro service pack 1, not corp.

I'm telling you that's it is corporate. it doesn't say corporate on it, but it is. reg xp pro require activation. I have 2 different xp pro disc the require activation. Corporate is the same thing as VLK (volume license) which is made specifically for businesses and it cost 3000 at the very least. but you can put it on any computer that you want.

the are 30 different version of xp

It's no big deal really, i ll bet the 1 in 3 people on this forum have an illegal version of xp.

I think MS has better things to be doing than searching random forums to see if anyone's talking about their stolen copies of xp.

3 years ago, they were locking your computer up if you had an illegal key. the problem was that they locked up thousands of computer with legit keys and that was a mess

for a completely clean install of windows xp pro, the best way to go is just xp pro corp, and not OEM or upgrade?
