You dont need to erase them to reformat. Just pop in the CD as you are booting up, and make sure that your BIOS is set to boot off of the CD before the hard drive. Then, follow the directions in Windows Setup to format and install Windows.
it said it cant reformat because there are temporary setup files on the drive that windows needs to use to install windows....thats why i asked what folder they were in so i can erase them
